Excess of everything is really not a good idea, especially in virtual world. The idea of effective online presence has become so overwhelming for businesses all over the world that they end up spending well above $22 billion every year in this regard. The real irony is that about 56% of this sum is dedicated for simple tasks like setting up and maintaining their websites; a fact reported by a study published in ActivMedia. Now, this really is nothing but excessive spending of businesses in areas where costs can be cut greatly if one vows to go for development and implementation of workflow systems rather than taking business websites as cocooned entities to be managed by highly paid dedicated IT services for tasks as simple as posting Press Releases and so forth.

One should not develop the opinion that resorting to the dedicated services of a web design firm is by some means insignificant for businesses, but the problem is that people seek their help for short term causes, such as development and maintenance of websites. People need to change their perspectives, approach and collaborate with website design firms for developing web systems instead of simply posting info on the sites and carrying out its basic maintenance in the name of IT assistance. The question is how to do so, and the answer lies in the lines below giving businesses a better idea of how to get the best out of costly IT services. It comprises of three phases:

1) Directing your Collaboration towards Establishing Workflow

Ironically, many businesses believe they lack internal collaboration needed to formulate a comprehensive workflow that can be incorporated into their online being rather than using website for simply updating company events, job openings, etc. The reality is that every business has that workflow down beneath there; all it takes is well directed effort to do so, so that your web design firm can incorporate that into your business website.

2) Working out Data Creation as well as Publishing Process

It pertains documenting all possible sources that might contribute in populating your website including press releases, pricelists, announcements, events, job postings, and so forth. It is also important to document the reach of user feedback, so that a way can be worked out incorporating all this documentation within overall process flow. This can better be understood with help of an example. If your site allows users to post resume, expand and signify the process to how might the system automatically screen them and move them further to concerned managers and departments, closing the circle again by sending an automated welcome note or a formal “no” statement to the candidates.

3) Evolving your Web Presence as a Window to overall Workflow Systems

As mentioned earlier, it is no use going for isolated websites that act no more than repositories of various types of company info, but work out with your web design services providing firms towards evolving your websites as a window to overall workflow that prevails in a particular business. This will not only help businesses in their proceedings, but it would also empower visitors and add convenience and confidence to their experience with your websites.

Conclusion

Inspirations for an idea or concept can be endless. Make sure you can get to make the maximum use of information stated above in evolving an online presence for your business that is dynamic, interactive, and effective enough not only to help you catch new clients, but also helpful for you in running business conveniently.

New sites are popping up everywhere and covering many different niches. However, simply putting up a website is not enough to be successful. There are factors and metrics involved in order to help your site do well. Here are 5 ways you can start your site on the right foot and aim for success.

Learn Proper SEO:

Before you launch your site, there is one thing you need to learn, SEO. This is search engine optimization that should be started during the creation of your site. From knowing what your site is about, to how it is laid out, to the content you provide, SEO covers all aspects of your site. Be sure to learn the metrics involved and what is expected of a site in order for it to rank well in search results.

Create an Identity:

Before you create your blog, it is highly suggested to know what it will be about. Your site will need an identity in order for people to know what it is about. Whether it is a mommy blog, a tech site, or a site about French fries, you need to establish an identity. This is not only important for your followers but also for your SEO keywords. If Google doesn’t know what your site is about, it won’t know how to index it.

Create Quality Content:

In the past, quantity of backlinks and content played a big part in page ranking. Now the quality of your content and backlinks are more important. When creating the content on your site, be sure it is relevant to your site’s niche. You won’t find any benefit posting about diapers on your tech site and Google won’t either. If your content is irrelevant to your site, your followers will find it confusing to determine what you are trying to say and what your site is truly about.

Include Navigation:

There is nothing worse than a site with everything on one page. This makes it hard for your visitors to find the information they came to your site to find. Include enough navigation to help them find their way around. Not every post needs its own menu button, but categorize your content properly. This will also assist in your page rank as your site gets indexed.

Don’t Over-Advertise:

If your intention is to monetize your site and make a little income from it, you will need advertising. Too much advertising will hurt your site however. Be sure to choose ads that are relevant to your site and don’t put too many. The main focus of your site should be the content first, advertising second. Too many ads will shy away your visitors rather than keeping them on the site and converting them to follow your advertised links.

Creating a site can be a fun, interesting, and profitable experience. If you plan to create a successful site, you will need to learn what a successful site consists of. Take the time to learn SEO strategies that work, read about the metrics included in Google page ranking and be choosy about the content and ads that you will have on your site. This will give you a better chance to be successful.

While speaking with some friends of mine about the future of technology (yes, we are nerds) we broached the topic of cloud computing. I think that the participation of the biggest brands in the world in massive, widespread cloud strategies is evidence of its current and continued presence in our society.

Think about Facebook: web-only application that allows users to post all manner of media and can now, through the magic of smartphones, tablets and the ever-growing mobile internet, be accessed through a stable of devices. Rackspace hosting is a prime example of a premiere cloud computing company utilizing social networking sites to spread their message. But the cloud goes back further than that. E-mail may be the first cloud application introduced to the consumer masses and that has grown into the Gmail, which is the only online mail provider that anyone takes seriously anymore. Apple and Amazon have seen success with their respective cloud initiatives unveiled last year.

The fun is not limited to massive global corporations; many providers offer dedicated server and cloud solutions for the ordinary consumer as well. Though the ideas of “cloud computing” is still picking up steam in the mainstream, the fact is we’re already sort of entrenched in it, and I’m not sure we’ll be able to go back.

The cloud is growing, but it’s still in its early stages. Now that it’s being introduced en masses via the world’s largest technology corporations, the platform is catching fire. Concerns about privacy in the cloud have been around for a while now, but as the cloud begins export to other countries and economic markets, political leaders and technology officials are calling out privacy concerns. They are nothing new, and echo the conversations I’ve had with friends and colleagues about the cloud over the past few years.

The argument against usually starts like:

“Okay, fine. Cloud computing fulfills a certain role in the 1st world’s increasingly Internet-based lives. But issues of privacy and the Internet plague this society to no end. Storing information in a third-party server to which an unknown team of techs have access seems like an irresponsible move.”

True, there is a certain element of trust inherent in the user/cloud provider relationship, but how is that different from any service you give sensitive information to? Should I never buy anything on the Internet because I don’t know the person on the other end of the transaction? The potential for credit card data to be harvested by a phishing scam is greater than the risk posed to cloud servers. Those “unknown techs” more than likely have a set of security measures, and the company paying them is literally invested in your security because any breach would be devastating to their business.

There is almost no information that is safe, but the de-coupling of that information from personal hard drives combined with the multitenancy that comes with cloud servers makes them a juicy target for people who would want to break in. Putting all the eggs in one basket makes them easier to steal. Look at the recent hacks into PlayStation Network, Dropbox, etc. which compromised personal information including credit card data.

Those were both devastating attacks that left many people vulnerable, but to cite them as if they happen all the time –though they did happen relatively close to each other –is misleading. These high-profile hacks and others like them are similar to airplane crashes in that they happen far less than smaller hacks (say, car crashes) but garner so much more attention, making it seem as if cloud computing is less safe or that every airplane you board has a high chance of tumbling of the sky. Airplane travel has a number of security measures that make it safer than car travel and yet when a plane goes down we all hear about it. The rarity of it makes it a spectacle, and the same seems to go for cloud security breaches.

The fact is security breach is a threat we’ve lived with for hundreds of years and now that is translating over to digital. As much as we might like a Minority Report world, we cannot stop crime before it starts. There is no perfect solution, but as the cloud platform grows, it will become more endemic to our 21st century lives. As it does, it will also become more sophisticated and secure.

The holidays, without a doubt, are such an amazing and exciting time. With all the decorations, food, parties and friends, it’s no wonder why people can hardly wait for that time of the year to arrive. However, despite all the cheerfulness and excitement, there is a downside to the holiday season, and that is stress.

What’s going to be on your menu this year? Do we get a real tree or an artificial one? Do I have enough money for that? What is Bieber Fever and how do I get it for my daughter? All of these questions seem to pop up at some point in time during the holidays, and the stress of trying to find answers to them can truly be overwhelming.

Thankfully, there is a tool to help solve any and every holiday parks crisis – the smart phone. Whatever you could possible think you might want or need to do, can be done right at your fingertips. So let’s examine a few ways a smart phone can assist you during the holiday season.

The biggest panic during the season is the shopping portion. Trying to get everything for everyone on your list can be scary, so in this situation, organization is the key. With a smart phone in your possession, you are able to create detailed and refined lists of everyone you need to purchase gifts for and what you plan to buy for them. You will be able to check off the items as you purchase them, letting you know who you have shopped for and who you are still in need of shopping for. This will help keep you on track every second of the day.

Another useful tool within a smart phone is the ability to search for holiday items right on the phone. You can jump online or download an application that will help you discover the hottest must have items of the season. You will be able to find out what stores carry various items, and where to go for the best bargains. There is a function available on the smart phone where users can scan the barcode of any item and your phone will tell you if that item is available for a cheaper price either at another store or online (which, if it is online, you can purchase from your phone).

With all the chaos of the holiday season, a smart phone will without a doubt keep you organized and focused. You will be able to get everything done, do all your research and shopping, create your menu and save money just by using your smart phone. With all the craziness surrounding the holidays, nothing sounds as smart as that!

Not only in present times, but change has always been subject to a certain degree of resistance. In fact, experts take it to be an integral component of human survival instinct; not willing to go astray from their comfort zone for the fear of worst. However, more often than not, change proves to be a blessing in disguise; as in the case of latest version of Google Analytics.

Latest version of Google Analytics also had to face the same fate; significant resistance from individual online marketing gurus as well as from formal internet marketing companies. However, there are many interesting and beneficial features hidden under the hood, waiting for people to take a deeper look to realize their charm and charisma in easing out their online marketing concerns; especially the ones concerned with On-Site optimization. Some of them are listed here:

Improved Architecture Optimization

Getting aware of precise visitor flow of a landing page is very important in improving architecture of a page by immediate tweaking based on the patterns of visitor flow considering all variables involved. Advanced features of latest Google Analytics help you segregate page visits based on categories like fresh visits, returning visits, track of referral traffic, and even the track of particular keywords within a custom segment, makes it possible for online marketers to become aware of detailed visitor patterns. This eliminates the pain of setting up goal-funnels and scrupulously tracing the paths of users. Newer version of Google Analytics puts a visual interface to it, so that online marketers can conveniently strive for improved optimization of site architecture.

Improved Mobile Interface

Mobile browsing is becoming more of an inexorable trait of virtual world. If online marketers are not able to track precisely the course of mobile web surfers on a landing page, it means there remains a great deficiency in their PPC marketing campaign; as the percentage of mobile web surfers is increasing with every passing day. Unlike previous version, newer version of Google Analytics does not require setting up complicated custom segments; integrated mobile tracking enables PPC managers to track every movement of mobile surfers of their web pages.

In-Page Analytics – More Real Than Ever

Latest version of Google Analytics also gets In-Page Analytics out of Beta into the real world, enabling web marketers to view different pages in a browser-identical format to observe the flow of traffic on percentage basis. This time, it also allows implementation of advanced segments to collect highly specific data for better molding of their PPC campaigns.

Enhancing Customer Satisfaction

Many aspects of New Google Analytics have been cushioned with visual enhancements to allow less tech-savvy clients feel more capable of seeing the proceedings of their projects in form of graphs and images. This adds greatly to overall customer satisfaction aspect, which has become quite imperative for highly aware and demanding clients of present times.

Conclusion

As with most of other things, going merely for face value never really lets people discover the true potentials hidden within a concept. Same is the case with New Google Analytics; the more you dig into it, the better you feel, especially about On-Site optimization concerns. Try these few aspects of it mentioned above and feel the difference for yourself.

For most people, wearing a wrist watch is a simple necessity; they need to get to work on time, pick up the kids on time or simply keep their appointments. Wearing a watch enables these people to get to where they need to be when they need to be there.

For those that want to reduce their stress and enhance their well-being, wrist watches are just as useful, though rarely considered. A standard wrist watch can be used to help you breathe properly and some watches are even designed to help you reduce your stress levels themselves.

Enhance Your Calm
The Philip Stein Teslar Watch is designed to produce an electromagnetic field, pulsing against your wrist, seven to nine times every second. These pulses mimic the signals your brain sends throughout your body when you are in a state of calm. Reviews of the watch, by scientists and wearers alike, have reported a reduction in body aches, improved sleep and even an enhanced sense of well-being.

Relieve Your Stress
New wrist watch technology ensures that we will be able to reduce our stress simply by turning to our wrists in the very near future. The BioJoy wrist watch and the Stress Watch are just two of these technological advancements.
The BioJoy promises to monitor our stress levels and give wearers ideas for reducing their stress via a built-in speaker on the face of the watch. The watch will “learn” its wearer and provide more personal suggestions over time. The Stress Watch will keep time with a changing face: a background of reds indicates a too high-level of stress while blues indicate a proper level of relaxation.

Meditate
Meditation is one of the best ways to reduce stress and unwind at the end of a long day. Without getting into the “Zen” of it all, meditation is nothing more than controlled breathing and a blank mind. Meditation takes quite a bit of practice for those that aren’t used to performing the task and, because of this; many people give up before they really learn how to meditate properly.

All one needs to meditate is a quiet area, a few pillows and a wrist watch. Beginners to the practice of meditation may find it easiest to sit on a pillow and place a pillow between their back and a wall. By resting your back on the pillow, it is easier for the beginner to maintain a proper posture.

Listen to the second hand tick on your wrist watch and begin counting your breaths. Breathing deeply through your nose for three seconds, holding for three seconds and exhaling for seven to ten seconds will help you relax. Once you’ve gotten the pattern of your breathing down pat, use your wrist watch to time your meditation session. Beginners should aim for a five minute session while experts can meditate for 45 minutes or more.

Wrist watches are fabulous accessories for those that need to unwind, meditate or reduce their amount of stress. Choose a watch made specifically to help you reduce your stress or a watch to help you meditate; no matter which you choose, you’re sure to find yourself more relaxed and at ease.

It’s not a surprise that in today’s economy many are looking for ways to save money. For site and blog owners, this can be a cash cow. Sites such as couponchief.com and retailmenot.com are taking the weakened economy all the way to the bank. Coupon and bargain blogs are growing in popularity as the need for consumers to save money increases.

If you are planning on starting a blog and want to reach a considerable following in a little amount of time, perhaps creating a coupon blog is the right step for you. But where do you start?

Before you build determine who you are:

As with any project there are details that need to be planned out before you build your site. For a coupon blog you need to figure out your brand. With so many coupon blogs out there, you will need to stand out and have your own identity. Think of a name, an icon, a look and feel, this is the same as any site you build.

Connect and Network:

If you are new to the coupon blogging community, it may be a good idea to rub elbows with those who have already been there. Befriend a couple of coupon blog owners and pick their brains. They may not give you step by step instructions but they may throw a few tips your way. Anything you can learn will help you later.

Find your Sources:

You can’t have a coupon blog without coupons and bargains. For that you will need to know where to look. There are hundreds of websites with deals from all over. Unless you just want to be another blog saying the same thing as the one before you, you will need to find your own sources. Manufacturer websites will be your best choice for deals. If you are offering deals locally, your newspaper, circulars and TV advertisements might help.

Content:

Once you understand where to go for the deals, you will need to add personality to your blog. This is done through content that is more than just a coupon. Writing about shopping, strategies, or even the don’ts of couponing may be a good start. You want to make a good impression from the start to keep your visitors from getting bored.

Traffic:

The whole point of having a site is to have people visit. When you are creating a coupon site you will be targeting those who are interested in saving money and shopping smarter. With your SEO in place you will also need advertising and marketing.

Try connecting with other blog owners and exchanging posts and links. This is a great way to share traffic and offer valuable backlinks for page rank. You may also want to register with the larger coupon distribution sites in order to build quality backlinks.

Social networks are also a great source for marketing your site. By posting your daily finds on Facebook and Twitter, you can create an interest to visit your site each day to catch the latest money saving option. Try not to over-post while using social networks, like everything else, nobody likes to be spammed. One deal a day should be acceptable to create interest.

Coupon blogs have the potential to help others save money while making the blog owner money at the same time. Take your time to find the resources you will need to keep the site updated and plan your strategic attack on the coupon and budget blogging world.

As a stay at home parent, UK resident Mary Blanchard understands the importance of making her dollars stretch. She frequents the coupon croc site to access web discounts to stay within budget.

Ever since Google announced the newest update to their extremely popular Android Operating systems, Android owners using the previous version of Android have been clamoring to find out how they get the update. Finally, Motorola and Sony Ericsson both have provided much desired answers to their customers.

The first mobile phone to come out with Android’s Ice Cream Sandwich was the Galaxy Nexus which has been released. With this release, mobile phone makers can now determine if they will disseminate the update and if so, how they will go about it and what devices will be provided the update.

Motorola has already stated which of their mobile phones will receive the Ice Cream Sandwich update. These would include the Motorola Droid Razr, Droid Bionic and the Motorola Razr. Motorola even went so far as to mapping out their plans for how the upgrade process will unfold.

Sony Ericsson said that all of it Xperia Android handsets must have some slight modifications for the update to occur. In order to make the Ice Cream Sandwich operating system stable on these devices a certification process must first take place. The same day that the source code was released, Sony Ericsson began working on the process for upgrades.

With the release of the Galaxy Nexus, the public has already had their curiosity piqued. Users of the Galaxy Nexus have passed the benefits of Ice Cream Sandwich through word of mouth. Not only are Motorola and Sony Ericsson working for the upgrade to happen. Other mobile phone makes such as HTC, LG and other Android phone developers are also working to make their devices compliant with Ice Cream Sandwich. This is good news for owners already using Android devices that run older versions of Android. Time will only tell will these updates will officially occur but from the sounds of things, it should occur sooner than later. Visit http://www.dialaphone.co.uk/ to find out more on what ICS will do for the future of mobile phones.

Our current society is more tied to the ebb and flow of technology than ever before. With more people connecting to the Internet, more smartphones being sold around the globe, and new devices pumping into the market at unprecedented rates, the developed world is starting to synthesize its own advancement with that of the devices it relies on.

An example. I went to see a band perform at a venue in Chicago some months ago. Normally at these types of shows, fans need to have cash ready if they want merchandise because touring bands don’t have the wherewithal to bring a credit card machine with them to every show. Square has addressed that by inventing a portable credit card apparatus and now nearly every show I go to has someone behind a table poking at an iOS device and swiping cards like it was second nature.

As Square revolutionizes shopping at rock shows with a low-impact, high efficiency payment model, Google has introduced a product that could end the wallet as we know it. Google Wallet is making a bid to popularize near-field communication (NFC) devices by allowing users to download an application, load their bank information onto it and pay for goods and services with the tap of a cellphone.

The affected industries aren’t just in retail. Qualcomm has developed its Hours of Service technologies that allow trucking companies to keep closer tabs on data through electronic monitoring of drivers’ hours and duty status. These mobile computing technologies also eliminate the need for filling out traditional paper driver logs.

These are a few of the analog processes that are being supplemented — in some cases replaced — by digital methods. What’s the rush? Why are we so quick to move away from tradition?

Sadly, tradition is expensive. Ask the U.S. Postal Service. Americans have shifted en masse from the expensive, time-consuming endeavor of sending mail through a government agency to more efficient online solutions. They are often cheaper, faster and more reliable than the postal service. It hurts me to say, but I’ve had too many packages held or undelivered due to the USPS.

Additionally, technology is moving us toward a greener, more efficient world. Attitudes toward greener practices have taken off in the past few years, not only as a lifestyle choice but as a cost-saving measure. Where it’s cheaper to eschew unnecessary packaging, less fuel, and “environmentally safe” practices, big brands are all about it. Unsurprisingly, consumers are as well.

The ubiquity of technology won’t necessarily save the world but it is putting us on the right track. The right track, in our case, is a position from which we can significantly change our wasteful, inefficient ways and modify them to accommodate a free and just world.
