Today, CD Writers are very common and CDRs and CDRWs are cheaper than ever. While most people use their CD Writers to create music CDs or to copy files, CD-R and CD-RWs can also be to store backups in an easy way. A normal CD can store 650MBs of data. This number can often be doubled to 1.3GB using an efficient compression algorithm. Since most backups are often smaller than 1.3GBs this makes CDRs or CDRWs a perfect solution for storing backups. Compression In order to use the CD media more efficiently you will probably want to compress your backup before writing it to the CD. Compression can often reduce the size of a backup by 50% or more, doubling the capacity of your CDs.

Basically, System Restore is like a little hound that runs behind the scenes taking “snapshots” of various parts of the Microsoft Windows XP operating system. So, if a part of Microsoft Windows XP stops working one day, the System Restore utility is able to reference one of the “snapshots” it took and restore your system from a previous day (a day when your computer worked). It’s kind of like going back in time to a day when your computer worked. All your current data (Microsoft Word files, etc.) are still retained, so you don’t have to worry about losing any present day files. In order to restore your computer just follow these simple steps: 1. Close any open programs. 2. Click on the Windows “Start”

Being in the computer field for some years, I’ve seen many people being afraid to save data on their computers. People are so paranoid, but don’t really know what to do unless they’re willing to spend a little time to learn about the box with a cup holder built into it (CD ROM tray)=0). Anytime I build a computer or reinstall Windows on someone’s computer, I always partition the hard drive into C: and D:. Partitioning is the process in which is installing one hard drive and making your computer see itself as having two hard drives. When it comes to your website, extra attention should be paid to every minute detail to make sure it performs optimally to serve its purpose. Here are seven important rules of thumb to observe to make sure your website performs well. 1) Do not use splash pages Splash pages are the first pages you see when you arrive at a website. They normally have a very beautiful image with words like “welcome” or “click here to enter”. In fact, they are just that — pretty vases with no real purpose. Do not let your visitors have a reason to click on the “back” button! Give them the value of your site up front without the splash page. 2) Do not use excessive banner advertisements Even

You see, the operating system software on today’s computers is not optimized for fast

As we continue to evolve into the world of e-mail that is part of our everyday life, sometimes little problems arise that bother the user. We don’t use E-gold very often since most of our online business and customer sales are conducted through our online merchant account. However, we occasionally have someone who will request paying by E-gold so we keep an account there for this reason. Once a month or so we withdraw the funds and decided to do so yesterday.
