Keira Knightley will be auditioning for Christopher Nolan’s The Dark Knight Rises, the final movie in the Batman trilogy, according to The Hollywood Reporter. Knightley will be tested alongside Anne Hathaway and Jessica Biel, and rising stars Kate Mara (127 Hours, Iron Man 2) and Charlotte Riley, to play two main female roles—Batman’s love interest or a villain. One of the characters is believed to be Talia, daughter of the villain Ra’s Al Ghul (played by Liam Neeson in Batman Begins). Talia is portrayed in comic books as both Batman’s lover and antagonist. Wellington, Jan 31 (ANI): India has reportedly become the largest source of new international students in New Zealand. Nearly 9000 student permits have reportedly been issued to Indian students. First-time students accounted for more than half of all international students in New Zealand, the Department of Labour’s migration trends and outlook 2009-10 report said. “India has become the largest source country of new international students to New Zealand, but China remains the single largest source country of international students,” it added. LONDON  – British composer John Barry, who won five Oscars and is best known for creating music for the James Bond movies, has died. He was 77. “It is with great sadness that the family of composer John Barry announce his passing on January 30, 2011 in New York,” his family said in a statement released by Bond production company EON Productions. “Mr. Barry is survived by his wife Laurie of 33 years and his four children and five grandchildren.” A private funeral will be held, with a memorial service to follow in Britain later in the year. Russian President Dmitry Medvedev has warned that his country would deploy its first-strike nuclear missiles if NATO fails to co-operate in reaching an agreement with the country’s alliance on the latest proposal about the European anti-missile defence (AMD) system. “We need it (AMD) not to play some common games with NATO but to defend Russia in a due way. An Indian worker in Dubai is facing a six months jail term after he grabbed a 9-year-old schoolgirl and kissed her on the lips.
